Sofa 2 seater with chromium-plated steel frame. Springing by hide straps. Seat and back upholstered with polyurethan foam. Leather covering.
History:
Designed in 1929 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Designed for the "Deutscher Werkbund" Pavilion at the World Exhibition, Barcelona 1929. The chairs had to be used by the King and Queen of Spain, who were to make an official visit and sign the guest book. This chair is commonly referred to as the "Barcelona chair". The Upholstery detailing is generally credited to Lilly Reich.
