Charles Eames
Table in ash plywood natural or black painted
History:
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1946. This table was first produced by the Evans Products Company of Los Angeles. It was included in the 1946 Museum of Modern Art Show dedicated to the furniture of Charles and Ray Eames. The original production was of ash plywood. Later this table was offered with the colored red or black in an open pore finish. In the late 1950' s it was made of teak veneered plywood. This, no doubt, reflected the influence of Scandinavian teak furniture which was then very popular in the United States. This model went out of production in 1857. Examples of this table are very much sought after by collectors.
